Special occasions deserve to go with the perfect meal

Caprese Arepa

- 1 cup P.A.N. Pre-cooked White Corn Meal

- 1 ¼ cups water

- 1 teaspoon salt

- ¾ cup pesto sauce

- 2 medium tomatoes, sliced

- 2 pieces of fresh Mozzarella cheese

- 4 teaspoons pesto

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil


  1. Pour water and salt in a bowl; slowly add P.A.N. Pre-cooked White Corn Meal and knead well. Set aside for 2 minutes.
  2. Mix pesto with the dough. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape them into discs using your hands. Cook the arepas in a pan for 5 minutes on each side.
  3. Cut the cheese in slices. Slice open each arepa lengthwise, creating a pocket, and fill with cheese and tomatoes.
  4. Serve with a teaspoon of pesto as well as salt, pepper and olive oil.
